MLS Week 28 Picks

Result Home Away
Houston Dynamo Columbus Crew v Houston Dynamo
No specific reason other than the Crew have been lacking lately. Also, new head coach (or loss of their old one) may play into their morale and form.
Draw Seattle Sounders FC v Chivas USA
Sounders will be missing several key players, while Chivas, led by Eric Torres, have been playing surprisingly well. Nevertheless, I can’t quite give them the win here against the Sounders, though I’d love to see it.
Draw FC Dallas v Vancouver Whitecaps
Neither team here has been playing fantastically. I’d like to give the nod to the Whitecaps, but their strikers, particulary Kenny Miller, just looked horrible last week.
Sporting KC Sporting Kansas City v Columbus Crew
Second game in a week, and the Crew still aren’t doing great? That said, the departure of Kei Kamara might have an impact here. KC fans will be hoping it doesn’t.
Seattle Sounders Seattle Sounders FC v Chicago Fire
Here I have to give the 3 points to the Sounders. The Fire just hasn’t been that consistent.
Colorado Rapids Los Angeles Galaxy v Colorado Rapids
Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzales. Those players’ shoulders are pretty much what the success of entire Galaxy team rest on. And they’re gone. Go ‘Pids.
Portland Timbers Portland Timbers v Toronto FC
The Timbers need a win. TFC needs a new season.
New York Red Bulls Houston Dynamo v New York Red Bulls
Somehow the Red Bulls won last week without starting Thierry Henry. Not sure how that happened, but it did. Surely they can beat a tired Dynamo team.
Montreal Impact New England Revolution v Montreal Impact
The Revs have had a bit of a revitalized team this year. Still, not revitalized enough to overtake the Impact.
Chivas USA Chivas USA v D.C. United
This is the game of all games. Seriously, I’m looking forward to this. Why? Because it’s the battle of the gutter-dwellers. And the Chivas team has decidedly more momentum than DC. I expect a blowout. Also, I think Ben Olsen is likely to bust a capillary.
Philadelphia Union San Jose Earthquakes v Philadelphia Union
This goes back and forth in my head but in the end, I can’t see the Earthquakes pulling it off. They just haven’t been performing well.

Successful predictions: 4/9 (44%)
